FOOX: Ride of the Valkyries :)

Sep 23, 2009 9:15:00 AM

Along with HP Blavatsky "unusual" abilities (and her post-life influence on a certain infamous dictator), Marie Curie's penchant for the spiritual world, and some rudimentary understanding of those spirits that dwell somewhere between here and there, comes Wagner's Ride of the Valkyries. To call it emotive is an understatement. To admit I am obsessed with it, seems wrong and yet so right.

But to watch it in Apocalypse Now, gives it the teeth music alone cannot provide. Whether the rain comes in the form of attack helicopters and explosions or superhuman terrors with lightning and fire - it matters not. But to understand that terror is to understand the nature of Man amidst gods - and both within and inferior to God.

While different from my normal music - Wagner's Ride of the Valkyries comes to me now - and for that I graciously and intently listen and let the music flow as I paint.

Or said differently, "for those of us on the side of Light, do not fear sudden terror, or the destruction of the wicked when it comes. Speak your piece and it shall stand, for God is with us. Even till your ancient in age, God shall remain unchanged, and shall endure."

Watching it again, I noticed that the "Valkyries" came out of the Rising Sun!!! And that my friends completes the analogy - complex, profound, and beautiful.

And in a world where social networking sites allow users to garner 1000's of friends in a jiffy (yes I know my account has been disabled not once but twice - sorry folks. I will return soon with new art), getting a 1000 passionate followers to join a Tribe = making a difference E.A.S.I.L.Y.

This video says it all. Watch.

FOOX: Toys Everywhere!

Picture 2

Well I don't normally link here, I gotta know what this toy is... Can anyone identify the toy in the picture? If so, I'll make it worth your while... :)

An Ode to Freaky Freaky (you know who you are). Song makes me move, remix = goooooooooooood

And, Core77, found these cool commercials by AT&T from 1993 that predict accurately the future we now live in. It made me smile BIG. I saw those commercials. I was a high school student or mid-level student and remember thinking NO WAY or HOW COULD THAT BE POSSIBLE, and today I take all of these things for granted - and in fact complain about them! Hope these commercials make you smile too!

FOOX: Monsters Everywhere!

Picture 52

"... Let a thousand encamp at your side and a myriad at your right hand, but to you they shall not approach. You will merely peer with your eyes, and you will see the retribution of the wicked."

NEW Harry Hausen available now (last of his lot, limited to 50)

Picture 16

photo credit Carlovely and Hannibal Cash of my painting "We're All Friends Here". I got it right when I pointed out the symbolic relationship between most religions of antiquity and present day, however I got it wrong when I suggested a friendship could exist. The very nature (not Nature) of low level understanding of God's word almost always seems to lead to dischord and subsequent violence.

My new work - coming up later this month - is going to address this exact philosophical issue!
I am working overtime on these pieces and hope everyone likes them.

And now I leave you with this link. Compliments SpankyStokes - the one and only!
